ESOL Information

Enrollment for Fall beings in August for FACE to FACE classes or ONLINE CLASSES. We will follow the Davis Learning Together Big Five plan in our building and in all classes which includes masks and social distancing with hand sanitizer in each classroom.  


ONLINE  CLASS OPTION

We are going to offer online classes in the fall for students who do not feel comfortable attending or cannot attend face-to-face classes.

Levels intermediate to Advanced

Students must attend in person registration either day or night at Canyon Heights.  The registration information is below.

Students must also attend an orientation.  First orientation is on Friday, September 11, 9 am to noon for day or Wednesday, September 9, 6 to 8 pm for night.


Students will need to provide the following information for registration:


Enrollment fee of $100 (cash, check to Davis School District, or card-3.5% fee charged of $3.50)
Proof of Utah residency:  Forms of residency we accept are listed below:
   (Driver's license, Utah ID card, Bill or other mail from a business with STUDENT'S name and address on it, recent transcript from a Utah school, library card)
 
Transcripts if you would like to complete high school

We offer a variety of English classes from high-beginning to advanced for speakers of other languages (ESOL) and High school preparation at convenient locations in Kaysville and Clearfield.

We welcome students age of 17 and older.  We provide students with an opportunity to learn and communicate effectively in English for careers, high school diploma, or to accomplish higher educational or professional goals. We believe in providing English excellence and do so in a comfortable atmosphere.

ESOL Certified instructors teach essential English language skills, reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Friendly and professional teachers and staff put students' needs first. (All fees are School Board approved.)

Testing is required for class placement. Classes fill up quickly!  Those who test early will have the first opportunity to enroll.  Students are required to enroll in at least two consecutive classes per week. Please allow 3 hours plus for testing. (New students may require up to 4 hours for testing.) Bring proof of Utah residency, for example, a driver's license, a bill with your name and Utah address, or a library card.

$100 fee per year including books (Add 3.5% for credit and debit cards)

(Books are CHAL property and must be returned.)

College and Career Readiness
The following classes are included in registration into the ESOL DAY program


Certified Nursing Assistant Class
   Class prepares students to enter CNA program or other health occupations at Davis Tech
   Wednesdays and Fridays 9-12 at Canyon Heights and online.  Classes begin September 16th.

Business Administrative Services Class
   Class prepares students to enter BAS program at Davis Tech.  Classes begin October 2020.   
   Students will receive Davis Technical College Credit for finished classes.
   Classes Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:45- 3:15 at Canyon Heights.
