With help from counselor Katie DeGroot and teachers Sherilynne McKee and Sherry Bronson, during the school year have tied blankets for local hospitals and shelters. So much fabric was donated.
These students are learning just how powerful kindness can be—and they’ve loved every minute of it.

At Oak Hills Elementary, there’s something in the halls that feels a little extra special—and it might just be the generations of connection.
This past year, students learned that some of their teachers once walked these same halls as students.
Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Clark and 5th grade teacher Ms. Bell both attended Oak Hills as kids.
Mrs. Quist’s husband was once a student here, too.
And 4th grade teacher Mrs. Martinez? Her husband and mother-in-law both went to Oak Hills—and she even shared a photo of their 4th grade class from way back when.
For so many at Oak Hills, it’s more than just a school. It’s a place you return to. A place that feels like home.

Though no one remembers exactly when it was installed, the tank remains a daily source of interest and conversation. Students enjoy naming the fish—often giving each one more than one name—and watching them during breaks.
It’s a simple feature, but one that adds a memorable and calming element to the school environment.

Before school let out, students and staff at Cook Elementary pulled off a surprise “Dress Like Mr. Hughes Day” to celebrate their beloved principal’s retirement. From button-downs to glasses, the halls were full of heartfelt impersonations and laughter.
Because while learning was always the priority, Cook knew how to make room for fun, connection and lasting memories.
This fall, the school will welcome Mrs. Elizabeth Jensen as the new principal. But no matter who’s at the helm…
Once a Cougar, Always a Cougar.

Students from LIA, MAC and SBO shared posters about their interests, families and heritage—while guests snacked on Mexican, Polynesian and Chinese treats.
Highlights included dances from Puerto Rico and American Samoa, a violin solo, a tumbling routine and a group performance by LIA students.

We celebrate the strength, sacrifice and spirit of those who helped shape our state—and continue to inspire us today.

Each week, students across the school would tune in for “Name That Tune” Tuesday. A song plays over the intercom, and the challenge begins: Be the correct caller with the song title and artist, and your class wins.
The prize? Foxboro’s beloved “Golden Guitar” trophy. The winning class keeps it for the week, adds their teacher’s name and contributes a small artifact that represents their class.
It’s a fun tradition that strikes a chord with students and celebrates school spirit—one song at a time.

This victory is more than a milestone. It’s the result of hard work, teamwork and the relentless determination of a team that believed in itself.
Congratulations to the Phoenix on making district history and bringing home the championship!

Advanced ESL students recently completed a real-world project on job readiness, finishing with mock interviews hosted by the Utah State Board of Education’s Adult Ed team.
“I had a job interview for a promotion at work, and I was more prepared—and I got the promotion," one student said.
Thanks to our USBE partners and these amazing students for showing what growth and courage look like.
