4th grade pelicans dug into paleontology using the district provided Natural History Museum fossil box. Students were able to hold petrified wood, fossil molds, a replica of a Diabloceratops fossil and more. This provided a fun way to explore fossils and help students understand how we can gain knowledge about the past by using fossils.

Early literacy builds the foundation for academic achievement.
Davis School District’s Family Literacy Nights help families support children’s reading and learning from the earliest years through elementary school. Families will participate in hands-on activities, learn practical strategies and choose four sessions tailored to their child’s age, grade and learning needs.
Sessions are designed for children ages 0–3, ages 3–5, kindergarten and first grade, and second and third grade. Sessions will be offered in English and Spanish, with interpretation available in additional languages.
