Fairfield Junior High Turns Math into an Adventure with ELF-Themed Escape Room.
Students in the ninth-grade math classes at Fairfield Junior High recently took part in a one-of-a-kind learning experience — an ELF-themed escape room designed to challenge their math skills in a fun and engaging way.
As part of the activity, students worked together to solve math problems and puzzles through the "7 Levels of the Candy Cane Forest" and the "Sea of Twirly Swirly Gum Drops." Each challenge brought them one step closer to the final clue, which would allow them to escape through the Lincoln Tunnel to victory.
This hands-on, interactive approach utilizing the newly adopted Illustrative Mathematics curriculum not only helped students strengthen their math and problem-solving skills but also fostered teamwork and creative thinking. The energy and excitement were palpable as students collaborated, cracked codes and raced against the clock.
The event combined holiday cheer with educational value, making math both exciting and memorable. Fairfield Junior High continues to find innovative ways to make learning fun.

🎄🎁 Grinch Day Shenanigans in Davis School District! 🎁🎄
Recently, students at Whitesides Elementary celebrated a festive Grinch Dress-Up Day, and the day became even more memorable with a surprise visit from none other than the Grinch himself!
The students enjoyed the whimsical charm of the Grinch, who made his appearance filled with the character’s signature mischievousness. Despite his reputation, we’re happy to report that no Christmas was stolen during the day's events. Instead, students engaged in a variety of fun activities that brought out their holiday spirit while dressing up in their best Grinch-inspired outfits.

🎁 Vikings Give Shopping Day: A Heartwarming Success at Viewmont High! 🎁
Recently, Viewmont High School took part in one of the most heartwarming events of the season — Vikings Give Shopping Day! With over 175 student volunteers in attendance, the morning was filled with excitement, generosity and holiday spirit as students worked together to provide a special Christmas for 275 children from the Grandfamilies organization.
Thanks to the incredible support from Centerville Walmart, which graciously opened its doors early at 5:00 a.m. just for these volunteers, Viewmont students had the entire store to themselves as they shopped for gifts to fulfill the wish lists of the children they were paired with. From toys to clothing to essentials, each student carefully selected items to bring joy to their assigned child this holiday season. 🎁✨
As of Dec. 17, $58,000 had been raised through Vikings Give, and this shopping day was a pivotal moment. Vikings Give is also ensuring that 118 families will receive Christmas dinners, gas and grocery cards. Over 100 Viewmont students in need are taken care of, and support is given to the Valhalla Student Teen Center.
This event is just one of many initiatives that showcase the power of community and the true spirit of giving at Viewmont High.
A huge thank you to everyone involved for making this year’s Vikings Give such a success!

Their very own Principal, Mr. Nash, is fully embracing the role of Pinkie the Elf! Students found Pinkie stirring up fun during lunch and throughout the day.

Third Grade teacher Kim Valencia at Antelope Elementary is spreading kindness with a special project. Each student is contributing to a "care package" for those in need. The bags included essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, snacks and a "sweet handwritten note from my kiddos," said Valencia.
These packages are meant to be kept in parents' cars and handed out to those experiencing homelessness or hardship. It's a simple way to show compassion and make a difference! ❤️
